Happy New Year 2020!

On February 1st, The Dead Reckoning will mark 3 years playing 5 Points Music Sanctuary. And since that’s director Tyler Godsey’s birthday weekend, you know we are planning a raging party! Consider The Source will bring their knock-out virtuosity back this spring and we have a few photos of a fantastic NYE Tour Bus ride to The Harvester straight ahead.

THE DEAD RECKONING

The story of 5 Points Music Sanctuary is only 3 years old, yet the legends being told stretch from coast to coast and beyond. It all began with a spontaneous show featuring some special friends with a little band called The Dead Reckoning on Jan 28, 2017.  At the time, the vision of where we were going was clear, but the path that lay ahead had yet to be paved. When the doors opened that evening, over 275 rowdy souls converged to help us write the very first chapter of our story. If there was any doubt about the future success of our vision, it ceased to exist that evening. Since then, 5 Points Music has hosted over 350 live events, birthdays, weddings, dances, and gatherings off all sorts.  The Dead Reckoning has performed 10 of those events and has earned their rightful place at the top of the list when we refer to our Family Bands. On 2/1/20, we invite you to join us for another installment from these amazing friends and incredible performing artists as we celebrate the Sanctuary’s 4th year and at midnight, we are going to let all hang out as we celebrate Tyler’s 39th birthday on Groundhog’s Day! Thanks for giving us the opportunity and honor to chase these moments again and again and again!

CONSIDER THE SOURCE

More galactic sightings from 5 Points Music Sanctuary. This time, instead of the funk, we’re bringing you the fury of Consider the Source‘s dazzling virtuosity! With influences from Coltrane to Claypool, these guys know all about killer improv and headbanging beats.

Sci-fi fusion trio Consider the Source defy easy categorization. If intergalactic energy beings, upon their initiation into an order of whirling dervishes, built a pan-dimensional booty-shaking engine powered by psychedelic math…it would sound like a cut-rate CTS cover band. With their blend of progressive rock and improvisatory jazz, soaked in Indian and Middle Eastern styles, CTS blends disparate elements into an utterly original whole. A relentless touring schedule has earned them a fervent following around the world, with fans ranging from jam-band hippies to corpse-painted headbangers.

Don’t miss tomorrow night’s second 5 Points Music Benefits show with Isaac Hadden featuring Jake Dempsey, Foster Burton, and Matt Leonard to raise money for Make-A-Wish. Opening up will be The Jared Stout Band featuring Robbie Carden on harmonica. It’s an early night with doors at 6:30p, show starting at 7:30, and tickets are only TEN BUCKS!
